Target Audience

Gender: Male and Female.

Age: 15-30

Occupations: School Pupil, College Student, University student or if a full time worker they would be in some kind of financially stable job i.e. in a office or part of a company (ABC1).
They would share a great interest in horror films, and have a bubbly and outgoing personality. They would find scary things more chilling and fun than an average person would. They would also be quite intelligent and fit, and have a general interest for psychological concepts.

Reasons to why my target audience would be tempted to buy and watch my film:
1.) My film trailer would represent the key codes and conventions of a horror film. For example the characters would include the main killer, the dumb victim, the promiscuous victim, the arrogant victim (thinking he’ll never die), the average victim and the intelligent victim who has a high IQ and is commonly associated as the final girl or boy. This would make the horror film more realistic.
2.) I would have effective sound, such as children’s nursery rhymes (contrapuntal sound), it would create significance to the killer (who is a small child). I would have stabs (sudden burst of sound) to make the killer seem more powerful. The general chilling music and silence would also be included to make it more effective and satisfy the audience.
3.) The locations and sights that would be included, will show obvious isolated places such as a big house and a school and blood would be used to show the mark of the killer. This would meet the demands for what a target audience would expect to see in a horror film.
